$5 fee for activation of Microsoft adCenter when signing up for Windows Office Live?
Q. I am creating my own webpage. Microsoft says that Office Live is free, but when you click on learn more, and it brings you to this site ( scroll to the bottom and in fine gray print it says there is a $5 activation fee for adCenter. What is I don't want to use adCenter? Do I still have to pay? Is adCenter a software that I install and if I use it, then there is a fee? please help!

Does Microsoft adCenter have a web publisher section?
Q. Like Google has its Google Adsense, does Microsoft adCenter have a web publisher part?

A. None yet, although in the last Microsoft MIX06 conference there was a session on Introducing adCenter Microsoft s Next Generation Advertising Platform and the blurb of that session was: "Get the insider view of our current search advertising pilot in the U.S., our plans for ContentAds in 2006 and a preview of the innovations we're testing at the Microsoft adLabs." So MSN has plans to introduce its counterpart to Adsense called MSN ContentAds. Nothing has been heard about it though a few Webmasterworld members have been contacted about it and possibly invited to test out their system. Maybe we will hear more of it in 2007

A. Good luck with that, MSN AdCenter is so hard to use. It is really an awful interface. I dread logging in (thats if I can even log in at all) I had to use firefox since nothing was showing up with IE7. I did not get many clicks or impressions using them even though my bids were high. And yes Live search / MSN are the same.

Most Effective/Inexpensive Marketing Options for a Local Mobile Spyware & Virus Removal Company?
Q. I just started a local mobile spyware & virus removal business and want to start out with the least overhead up front. I started out with Craigslist, and Google Adwords, Microsoft Adcenter, but haven't had any calls yet. I haven't marketed those aggressively yet but I will. The problem is competition, so many businesses are doing the same thing or are a local computer repair business. So how can I set myself apart or what are good ways to market that are effective but not very expensive? Thanks.
